UK LEGENDS OF LEGENDS 2017 PERFORMANCE – LEESHA MAC

BORN: 22ND JULY 1991 IN HANDSWORTH, BIRMINGHAM, ENGLAND.

AT THE AGE OF 22 I DECIDED I WANTED TO PURSUE A MUSICAL CAREER AND FELT CONFIDENT IN DOING SO GIVEN THE SUPPORT OF MY DAD. I AM A SUFFERER OF SICKLE CELL AND UNDERGO MONTHLY TRANSFUSIONS TO PREVENT ME FROM HAVING ANOTHER STROKE, WHICH I ORIGINALLY HAD AT THE AGE OF 13. THIS IS ONE OF THE COMPLICATIONS THAT CAN OCCUR WITH SICKLE CELL.

AS I GAINED NEW EXPERIENCES WITH LIFE, DAILY LIVING AND A NEW MUSIC CAREER I THEN DECIDED I WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY MAKING MY VOICE HEARD, GIVING OUT POSITIVE ENERGIES AND ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE WHO SUFFER WITH ANY DEBILITATING ILLNESSES. MY LIFE JOURNEY PROVES ANYONE CAN OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLES AND BARRIERS – TO ACHIEVE LIFELONG DREAMS AND AMBITIONS.

I’VE ALWAYS FELT IN MY HEART THE NEED TO SING, AS I HAVE BEEN SINGLING FROM CHILDHOOD, AND WOULD OFTEN SING IN SCHOOL FOR MY PEERS. MY FIRST SINGLE, ‘NEW LOVE’ WAS A REMAKE OF THE 1980’S CULTURE CLUB CLASSIC ‘I JUST WANT TO BE LOVED’ WHICH BOY GEORGE WISHING ME EVERY SUCCESS WITH THIS. ALBUM RELEASED MARCH 2016, WITH 15 TRACKS INCLUDING SPECIAL MIXES.
